On the occasion of Madhya Pradesh’s 70th Foundation Day, the state will receive a remarkable gift in the field of tourism. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the ‘PM Shri Air Tourism Helicopter Service’ at Raja Bhoj Airport, Bhopal, on November 1.
The event will be attended by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, Culture, Religious Trusts & Endowments Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi. Following the flag-off by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav all three helicopters will depart for Ujjain. Regular operations for the helicopter service will commence on November 20, 2025.
Minister Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi stated that the MP Tourism Department is launching the ‘PM Shri Air Tourism Helicopter Service’ to strengthen air connectivity between tourist destinations across the state. Operated under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, this initiative will give tourism in Madhya Pradesh a new dimension.
Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of the MP Tourism Board, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to introduce intra-state air connectivity. The new helicopter service will make travel between the state’s prominent religious, wildlife, and nature tourism destinations more convenient and appealing. This initiative is expected to open new dimensions in adventure, heritage, and spiritual tourism, enhancing the travel experience for both domestic and international visitors.
The ‘PM Shri Air Tourism Helicopter Service’ will operate five days a week in each sector. For operations, contracts have been signed for three years with M/s Trans Bharat Aviation for Sector 1 and M/s Jet Serve Aviation Private Limited for Sectors 2 and 3. In the initial phase, private operators will operate helicopters in each sector, with a minimum capacity of six passengers.
Three Sectors for Helicopter Service
· Sector 1: Indore – Ujjain – Omkareshwar
· Sector 2: Bhopal – Madhai – Pachmarhi
· Sector 3: Jabalpur – Bandhavgarh – Kanha
This initiative will make travel within Madhya Pradesh faster, more comfortable, and more memorable.
