On October 5, the fifth day of the State-Level Wildlife Week-2025 at Van Vihar National Park, about 600 people from various non-governmental organizations and environmentalists participated in Run for Wildlife. The race began at Van Vihar Gate No. 2, passing through Depot Square, Polytechnic Square, and Shyamla Hills, and ended at Van Vihar Gate No. 1 near the Boat Club. Abhilash Khandekar, former member of the Madhya Pradesh State Wildlife Board, distributed prizes and certificates to the winners.
A teacher debate competition on the topic Tourism in forests helps in wildlife conservation was held from 10:30 am. Twenty-two contestants participated and presented their views for and against the topic. Van Vihar National Park Director Vijay Kumar and Assistant Director Dr. Ruhi Haq were present on the occasion.
October 6th Events
On October 6th, the sixth day of Wildlife Week, a bird watching camp will be held from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM. A workshop for students will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM to provide information on rescue equipment, wildlife conservation, and monitoring. Another competition, the Wildlife and Nature Expo, will be held at 10:00 AM.
A debate competition on Development is Possible with Wildlife Conservation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Additionally, a walk-through quiz-cum-exhibition for tourists will be held at the Vihar Gallery, Snake Park, and Tiger Enclosure in Van Vihar, on topics related to human-wildlife coexistence, Mission Life, and Say No to Plastic.
