Actress Shefali Jariwala, who became gained fame with the remake song Kaanta Laga, has died at the age of 42. According to media reports, she suffered a cardiac arrest on the night of June 27, which led to her death.
Sources revealed that Shefali was taken unconscious by her husband and actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others, to Bellevue Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai on Friday night, where doctors declared her dead.
The hospital staff has confirmed that Shefali Jariwala was brought dead to the hospital. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem.
Mumbai Police has started investigation in this case. The forensic team has reached Shefali Jariwala’s house and evidence is being collected. The maid and cook of the house have been questioned at Amboli Police Station. Statements of family members are also being taken.
Shefali Jariwala began her career at the age of 19. She rose to prominence in 2002 with the massive popularity of ‘Kaanta Laga‘, a remix of an old Lata Mangeshkar song from the 1972 movie ‘Samadhi’.
Jariwala gained popularity through her participation in reality shows like “Nach Baliye”, a dance-based show series, with her husband, and later, Salman Khan-hosted “Bigg Boss 13”.
After this, she worked in some more music albums and films. In the year 2004, she was also seen in Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar’s film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. She was also seen in the Kannada film Hudugaru.
Shefali participated in many dance reality shows. At the same time, she was seen in Nach Baliye with her husband Parag Tyagi.
Shefali Jariwala married Meet Brothers musician Harmeet Singh in 2004. Both got divorced in 2009. After this, she married actor Parag Tyagi in 2015.
Jariwala’s sudden death has shocked many industry friends and colleagues, who expressed grief. Singer Mika Singh said he is unable to fathom the news about the death of his dearest friend, Jariwala.
