MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inspected the restoration work of the ancient Ahilya Kund under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign in Indore district. On the occasion, he also offered prayers and performed traditional rituals.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, addressing the villagers, called upon everyone to make water conservation a mass movement. He said that water is not merely a natural resource, but the very foundation of life. By conserving water, the future of the coming generations can be secured.
Referring to the couplets of Saint Kabir Das and Saint Rahim, CM explained the importance of water in a simple and inspiring manner. He said that in Indian culture, water is regarded as a symbol of life, sensitivity and prosperity. He urged villagers to conserve rainwater, protect ponds and kunds and ensure judicious use of water.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the state government is continuously working towards water conservation and is undertaking an extensive campaign for the revival of traditional water sources under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign.
CM said that water conservation efforts can succeed only through public participation and that Madhya Pradesh will emerge with a new identity as a water-rich state in the coming years.
