Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that there is a need for every possible effort to make Bhopal slum-free. He stated that buildings should be constructed first before vacating the slums to ensure minimal disruption for residents. Dr. Yadav also stressed the importance of coordinating with public representatives for this crucial task.
CM Mohan Yadav directed that work should commence on making the city slum-free, with tenders finalized by October. Additionally, he instructed officials to complete the ongoing road projects within the set timeframes, ensuring the timely passing of awards after the tender process.
During a review meeting on Saturday at Samatva Bhawan, his official residence, Dr. Yadav assessed the city’s development projects and sought updates on the preparations for slum-free initiatives. The Collector of Bhopal provided a presentation outlining the development works.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that infrastructure projects should be completed with a long-term vision, aiming to transform Bhopal into a metropolitan city over the next 25 years. He directed the Bhopal Metropolitan Development Authority to develop a comprehensive action plan for the growth of areas such as Raisen, Mandideep, Salamatpur, Sanchi, Rajgarh, Pilukhedi, Berasia, and Sukhi Sewaniya.
CM Dr. Yadav called for the timely completion of flyover construction across the district, including Bhopal city, and proposed the creation of an elevated corridor that preserves the aesthetic of the Upper Lake.
CM stressed the importance of maintaining quality in the construction of CM Rise schools and ensuring hospital buildings are completed on schedule to enhance healthcare services. The Adampur Bio-CNG Plant and waste management systems should be developed using modern technology. The district has also received approval for approximately Rs 1,522 crore towards sewage, water, and pond revitalization projects.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the need for generating electricity in government buildings using solar energy and called for a campaign to make Bhopal a model city in this regard. He urged motivating residents to install more solar panels on their rooftops. He also instructed the phased completion of the Metro Rail project and proposed the development of a plan for the Vande Metro.
Dr. Yadav further stressed the importance of creating a comprehensive plan to address the needs of the police department and developing a better strategy for managing the city’s traffic. He called for a 25-year development plan for Bhopal, to be prepared by the Housing Board, Bhopal Development Authority, and Smart City authorities.
