Bollywood actress Sharvari Wagh recently expressed her excitement and joy after meeting one of her idols, Rani Mukerji. Although Sharvari has been part of the film industry for a few years, the opportunity to meet such an iconic figure as Rani was a particularly special moment for her.
Sharvari made her acting debut in 2020 with the OTT series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye. She gained significant recognition with her first major Bollywood role in Bunty Aur Babli 2, where she starred alongside prominent actors like Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Since then, Sharvari has continued to advance her career with films such as Munjya and Vedaa. Her upcoming project, Alpha, features her alongside Alia Bhatt and is set to be the first female-led film within Yash Raj Films’ expanding spy universe.
In a recent media interaction, Sharvari shared her experience of meeting and working with Rani Mukerji. Despite her growing prominence in the industry, she admitted to feeling quite nervous before her initial interaction with the Bollywood veteran.
“I was very nervous actually because Rani ma’am is someone I’ve always looked up to,” Sharvari revealed. Reflecting on her childhood, she added, “As a child, I used to watch her films in theaters, come back home, and reenact her scenes and songs.”
Sharvari’s nervousness was understandable, given Mukerji’s star power and legendary status in the Indian film industry. However, those fears were quickly alleviated when Rani Mukerji turned out to be warm and approachable, making Sharvari feel comfortable on set.
“Rani ma’am was so warm and affable that all my nervousness calmed down quickly,” Sharvari said. She also clarified that despite working alongside stars like Saif Ali Khan, she never felt intimidated during the shoot. The working environment was collaborative and encouraging, with both Rani and Saif being supportive co-stars.
During the preparations for Bunty Aur Babli 2, Sharvari shared that she got to know Rani Mukerji better, and the two gradually developed a friendly rapport. “She looked exactly as I had expected,” Sharvari remarked, noting that Rani Mukerji met all of her expectations not only as an actress but also as a person.
As Sharvari prepares for her role in Alpha, she continues to rise in the ranks of Bollywood. The film, which features Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as co-leads, marks a significant milestone as it is the first female-led film within Yash Raj Films’ spy universe.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Sharvari’s performance alongside Alia Bhatt in this groundbreaking movie. Her journey from being an admirer of Rani Mukerji’s work to acting alongside her has been nothing short of a dream come true, and it is evident that she cherishes these moments in her burgeoning career.
