After spending 14 years abroad, actress Celina Jaitly has made her much-anticipated return to Mumbai for professional opportunities. Known for her roles in films such as No Entry and Apna Sapna Money Money, Celina is back in the city to begin a new chapter in her career.
She shared a photo on Instagram showcasing her stylish black top and blue ripped jeans. In her caption, Celina humorously addressed the quirky phenomenon of accents that many Indians adopt after short trips abroad. Reflecting on her experiences in Singapore, Dubai, and Europe, she joked about how some fellow Indians return from brief holidays with exaggerated accents, as if they’ve spent years in prestigious institutions.
Celina wrote, “In fact, speaking German as my first language in Austria has only made my English worse. Now, coming back to Mumbai, I hear my friends sounding like English news broadcasters, and I can’t help but wonder—where did I go wrong? Clearly, my ascent to a fancy accent didn’t go well… instead, I just tripped over grammar and landed in the land of What-did-you-just-say?.”
Celina Jaitly was last seen in the 2020 short film Seasons Greetings, directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, which also featured Lillette Dubey. Her filmography includes notable appearances in Thank You and Golmaal Returns.
