
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bhopal has commenced its Artisan Awareness Week under the event “Anuttara – Crafting Excellence,”which began on February 5. The day featured a special lntellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patent Design workshop for artisans, where experts guided them on securing their designs legally.
Additionally, a session on E-commerce and Product Photography was conducted, educating artisans on branding and selling their products through digital platforms. The highlight of the day was the Craft Demonstration and Training Session, where artisans showcased their traditional skills and shared their craftsmanship with NIFT students.
The event will culminate in a grand Craft Bazaar on February 7 and 8, 2025, featuring over 45 artisans from renowned craft hubs such as Chanderi, Maheshwar, Varanasi, Champa, Bhairavgarh, Nagina, Neemaj, and Farrukhabad.
The exhibition will showcase a diverse range of traditional crafts, including Banarasi, Chanderi, Maheshwari textiles, Block Print, Batik, Zardozi, Lacquer Craft, Terracotta, Nandna Print, and Jewelry Craft. Artisans will also receive valuable insights on quality assurance, government schemes, and admission procedures for their children at NIFT.
Marking the conclusion of Artisan Awareness Week, The formal inauguration of “Anuttara” will take place on February 7 at 10:30 AM by Professor Amitabh Pandey, Director of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. Following the inauguration, the two-day Craft Bazaar will provide art lovers, design experts, and traders a unique opportunity to explore India’s rich craft heritage and purchase authentic handcrafted products directly from the artisans.
