
Virat Kohli has returned to Ranji Trophy after more than 12 years. Thousands of his fans gathered at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday to watch him play.
Kohli has been going through a bad form in Test cricket for a long time. Till 2019, Virat Kohli’s Test batting average was 54.97 but in the Test matches played since 2020, his average has come down to just 30.72. His batting average in the last 10 Tests has been only 22.47.
On Thursday, the 36-year-old star batsman has entered the field for the Delhi team in the Ranji Trophy match against the Railways team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl first.
After facing a 1-3 defeat to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had instructed the contracted players to play domestic cricket.
