Today, one year of the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ramlala in the grand Ram temple of Ayodhya will be completed. At the same time, according to Hindu calendar, Ram temple will complete one year today i.e. on 11 January. On this occasion, preparations have been made by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust to celebrate the first anniversary of the temple in a very grand manner. On this holy day, Lord Ramlalla is going to wear yellow clothes. They have been weaved and embroidered using gold and silver threads.
Ceremony will be held from 11 to 13 January, in which common people will also participate. Last year, common people were not able to attend this historic ceremony.
The inauguration of Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 January last year. At the same time, according to Hindu calendar, the day when Ramlala’s Pran Pratishtha was done was the Dwadashi date of Paush Shukla. This year in 2025, Paush Shukla Dwadashi falls on 11 January i.e. Saturday. Therefore, the annual anniversary of Prana Pratishtha will be celebrated on this day. This festival starting from today is also being called Annual Dwadashi.
In this regard, last Friday, the Uttar Pradesh government had said in a statement that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate this program and will anoint Ram Lalla. The statement said, “Ram Lalla will wear Pitambari on the first day of Pratishtha Dwadashi. It has been weaved and embroidered embroidery with gold and silver threads.”
Today this ceremony will begin with the anointment of Ram Lalla. The process of anointing and worship of Ram Lalla started at 10 am today. Just like the Abhishek was done in Pran Pratishtha, on Pratishtha Dwadashi, Ram Lalla will be anointed with Panchamrit, water from the Saryu river, etc. After the Abhishek Puja, Ram Lalla’s Aarti will be performed at 12:20 pm.
According to the temple trust, a ‘German hangar tent’ has been set up at the Angad Tila site, which can accommodate up to 5,000 people. Common people will get an opportunity to see the grand events, which include classical cultural performances, rituals and Ram Katha discourses organized daily in the mandap and yagyashala.
In this regard, Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, had said that, “The trust has decided to invite common people who could not attend the Abhishek ceremony last year. They will be allowed to attend the programs on all three days at Angad Tila.”
At the same time, the trust had also said that invitation letters have been distributed to guests including 110 VIPs. Many of these people were not able to attend the original Prana Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024. Rai said, “Those who could not attend last year will be included in the anniversary celebrations this year.”
The daily program will begin with a session of Ram Katha from 2 pm today, followed by discourses on Ramcharitmanas (Manas Pravachan) and cultural programs. Prasad distribution has been planned every morning, to ensure that the attendees enjoy a devotional and spiritual experience. According to the media center of the temple trust, the decorations and festive preparations at the Yajna Sthal have been grand. The mandap and the yagyashala will be the main venues of these celebrations.
At the same time, this is a rare opportunity for the common people to be a part of the Ram temple celebrations.
