Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, will inaugurate the ‘Madhya Pradesh Utsav,’ a grand cultural and heritage festival, set to be held at the Madhya Pradesh Bhawan from August 30 to September 2, 2024.
Dr. Yadav highlighted that the festival aims to present a vibrant showcase of the state’s rich art, tourism, cultural heritage, public welfare schemes, and achievements. He mentioned that the event would offer a miniature glimpse of the diverse aspects of Madhya Pradesh.
The ‘Madhya Pradesh Utsav’ will also feature an array of special dishes representing different regions of the state, including Malwa, Vindhya, Mahakaushal, and Bundelkhand. Invitations have been extended to Union Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, other dignitaries, and the general public to join in the celebration and experience the unique cultural offerings of the state.
The upcoming festival is set to be a vibrant celebration, showcasing a diverse range of exhibitions that highlight the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of Madhya Pradesh. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore handloom and handicraft items, ODOP (One District, One Product) specialties, GI (Geographical Indication) products, and various aspects of the state’s cultural heritage. The festival will also feature displays of notable government achievements.
A variety of unique products will be available for purchase, including forest produce and medicinal products offered by the Vindhya Herbals stall. Shoppers can enjoy special discounts on exquisite handloom and handicraft items at the Mriganayani stall.
The Public Relations Department will have its own stall, providing detailed information about various government public welfare schemes through audio-visual presentations. Promotional materials related to these schemes will also be distributed to attendees. Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism exhibition will offer insights into the state’s diverse tourism packages and products, allowing visitors to gather information and make bookings directly at the event.
This festival is not just an exhibition but a gateway to experience the essence of Madhya Pradesh‘s tradition, culture, and government initiatives in one vibrant setting.
Cultural evenings will be organized every day in the four-day Madhya Pradesh Utsav. On the first day of the festival, classical singing of Dewas will be presented by Sangeet Natak Akademi Award winner Sushri Kalapini Komkali.
On the second day, Odissi dance will be presented by renowned Odissi dancer Smt. Bindu Juneja. On the third day, there will be a presentation of the instrumental ensemble through the traditional musical instruments including the Naal Tarang of the Maihar Gharana.
On the last day, 2nd September, folk songs will be presented by regional artists, which include Bagheli folk songs of Rewa by Shri Shashi Kumar Pandey and Nimari folk songs of Khandwa by Sushri Aalochana Mangrole.
Dishes from different regions of Madhya Pradesh will be available in the “Aahar Utsav“. Visitors can taste Malwa Thali, Bundelkhand Thali, Nimar Thali and Baghelkhand Thali, for which food stalls will be set up by Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. Apart from this, visitors can also enjoy special dishes like Bhutte Ki Kees, Indori Poha, Maheri, Sev Bhaji, Nimona, Bafla, Churma Laddu, Millet Kheer, etc.
