
Four people including a child were burnt alive in a massive fire in a Ajmer hotel. Many have suffered burns. Another child also got caught in the fast spreading fire. The mother picked him up and threw him down from the window. He has suffered minor burns.
Fire broke out at Naaz Hotel located in Diggi Bazaar at around 8 am. The fire reached the 5th floor of the hotel in no time. A large number of people were staying in the hotel. These people saved their lives by jumping from the windows.
JLN Medical College Principal Dr Anil Samaria said – Eight people with burn injuries were brought. Four of them died. The condition of three is critical. A child is also among the deceased.
The road to reach the hotel is narrow. Therefore, rescuers faced a lot of difficulty. During the rescue, the health of many police personnel and firefighters also deteriorated. Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jangid and other police officers reached the spot. The hotel is five storeyed. The cause of the fire is being said to be a short circuit.
Eyewitness Mangilal Kalosia said that the fire began with an explosion. He said- there was a sound of AC bursting. My wife and I ran out. After this, we called the taxi driver. The fire brigade came after half an hour. We broke the glass from outside. A woman threw her child in my lap from above. She also started jumping, but we stopped her. Another youth also jumped from the window. He has got head injuries.
Collector Lokbandhu, ADM City Gajendra Singh Rathore, Additional SP Himanshu Jangid have reached the spot.
