Union Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan returned from his Brazil visit on Monday morning, 21 April. His Brazil visit is important on many counts. Besides leading the Indian delegation at the 15th BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting, the Union Minister’s visit is an important step towards strengthening agricultural trade, technology and innovation between India and Brazil.
During Brazil visit, the Union Minister stressed on promoting production and export of soya in India. He intends to upgrade Indian farmers by enabling them the benefits of global technologies. He said that joint efforts of various countries will strengthen global food security.
When Shivraj was the CM of Madhya Pradesh, he used to plant sapling every day. But even after leaving the job of CM, he has continued to plant saplings.
Union Rural Development and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has been planted over 4,500 saplings over last four years, has called upon people to save environment by planting trees on occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.
Shivraj completed four years of planting saplings in February this year. According to Shivraj, planting trees is crucial for saving environment, stopping soil erosion, saving water and life. Shivraj said his pledge to plant sapling every day is now becoming a people’s movement. On February 19, 2021, the Shivraj had pledged to plant saplings everyday.
He had planted the first sapling in Amarkantak on the bank of river Narmada along with his wife Sadhna Singh Chouhan. “I hope to keep this movement going as long as I am alive. May it become a mega campaign to save environment,” he said.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s routine of planting a sapling every day continued in Brazil as well. He participated in the tree plantation drive at the Indian Embassy in Brasilia under the initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam‘, promoting environmental protection and respect for motherhood. The Union minister has so far planted more than 4,500 saplings in more than 20 states of the country.
Shivraj Singh also met the Indian diaspora at Sao Paulo in Brazil and appreciated their role in bilateral relations. He said that this is the Amrit Kaal of our independence under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In 2047, we will complete 100 years of independence and our goal is to make India a developed nation by then.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh said, “During my stay in Brazil, I got the opportunities to enrich myself with various experiences and techniques. We will utilize these technologies to increase production in India. I am confident that the mutual cooperation between India and Brazil will empower our farmers and give a new direction to global food security.”
This visit is an important step towards India-Brazil agricultural cooperation, partnership with BRICS countries and accelerating innovation and sustainable growth in Indian agriculture, Shri Singh added.

केंद्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण तथा ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान सोमवार सुबह 21 अप्रैल को ब्राजील दौरे से वापस लौट आए। उनका ब्राजील दौरा कई मायनों में महत्वपूर्ण है। 15वीं ब्रिक्स कृषि मंत्रियों की बैठक में भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व करने के अलावा केंद्रीय मंत्री का यह दौरा भारत और ब्राजील के बीच कृषि व्यापार, प्रौद्योगिकी और नवाचार को मजबूत करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
ब्राजील दौरे के दौरान केंद्रीय मंत्री ने भारत में सोया उत्पादन और निर्यात को बढ़ावा देने पर जोर दिया। उनका इरादा भारतीय किसानों को वैश्विक प्रौद्योगिकियों का लाभ देकर उन्हें उन्नत बनाना है। उन्होंने कहा कि विभिन्न देशों के संयुक्त प्रयासों से वैश्विक खाद्य सुरक्षा मजबूत होगी।
जब शिवराज मध्य प्रदेश के सीएम थे, तब वे प्रतिदिन एक पौधा लगाते थे। लेकिन सीएम पद से हटने के बाद भी उन्होंने पौधे लगाना जारी रखा है।
शिवराज ने पिछले चार वर्षों में 4,500 से अधिक पौधे लगाए हैं
केंद्रीय मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने पिछले चार वर्षों में 4,500 से अधिक पौधे लगाए हैं। उन्होंने लोगों से जन्मदिन और वर्षगांठ जैसे अवसरों पर पेड़ लगाकर पर्यावरण बचाने का आह्वान किया है। शिवराज ने इस साल फरवरी में पौधे लगाने के चार साल पूरे किए। शिवराज के मुताबिक, पर्यावरण बचाने, मिट्टी के कटाव को रोकने, पानी और जीवन को बचाने के लिए पेड़ लगाना बेहद जरूरी है। शिवराज ने कहा कि हर दिन एक पौधा लगाने का उनका संकल्प अब जन आंदोलन बन रहा है।
शिवराज ने नर्मदा नदी के तट पर अमरकंटक में पहला पौधा लगाया था
19 फरवरी, 2021 को शिवराज ने हर दिन एक पौधा लगाने का संकल्प लिया था। उन्होंने अपनी पत्नी साधना सिंह चौहान के साथ नर्मदा नदी के तट पर अमरकंटक में पहला पौधा लगाया था। उन्होंने कहा, “मुझे उम्मीद है कि जब तक मैं जीवित हूं, यह आंदोलन जारी रहेगा। यह पर्यावरण बचाने का एक बड़ा अभियान बन सकता है।”
शिवराज ने ब्रासीलिया में भारतीय दूतावास में वृक्षारोपण अभियान में भाग लिया
शिवराज सिंह चौहान की हर दिन एक पौधा लगाने की दिनचर्या ब्राजील में भी जारी रही। उन्होंने पर्यावरण संरक्षण और मातृत्व के सम्मान को बढ़ावा देने वाली पहल ‘एक पेड़ मां के नाम’ के तहत ब्रासीलिया में भारतीय दूतावास में वृक्षारोपण अभियान में भाग लिया। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने अब तक देश के 20 से अधिक राज्यों में 4,500 से अधिक पौधे लगाए हैं।
शिवराज ने ब्राजील के साओ पाउलो में प्रवासी भारतीयों से भी मुलाकात की
शिवराज सिंह ने ब्राजील के साओ पाउलो में प्रवासी भारतीयों से भी मुलाकात की और द्विपक्षीय संबंधों में उनकी भूमिका की सराहना की। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में यह हमारी आजादी का अमृत काल है। 2047 में हम आजादी के 100 साल पूरे करेंगे और हमारा लक्ष्य तब तक भारत को एक विकसित राष्ट्र बनाना है।
शिवराज सिंह ने कहा, “ब्राजील में अपने प्रवास के दौरान मुझे विभिन्न अनुभवों और तकनीकों से खुद को समृद्ध करने के अवसर मिले। हम इन तकनीकों का उपयोग भारत में उत्पादन बढ़ाने के लिए करेंगे। मुझे विश्वास है कि भारत और ब्राजील के बीच आपसी सहयोग हमारे किसानों को सशक्त बनाएगा और वैश्विक खाद्य सुरक्षा को एक नई दिशा देगा।”
सिंह ने कहा कि यह यात्रा भारत-ब्राजील कृषि सहयोग, ब्रिक्स देशों के साथ साझेदारी तथा भारतीय कृषि में नवाचार एवं सतत विकास को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
