In recent times, a new and dangerous scam is spreading rapidly on WhatsApp, which is being called “Blurry Image Scam“. This scam is designed in such a way that it traps you by taking advantage of your emotions and curiosity. The scam starts with a blurred photo, which comes to your WhatsApp from an unknown number.
The blurred image sent in this scam is captioned with – “Are you in this photo?”, “I have found your old photo!”, “Click and see who is this?” After reading lines like this, most people click on that photo without thinking.
As soon as you try to open that photo, you are redirected to a fake website, where you are asked for personal details, bank account information, or OTP. In many cases, this link can also put malware or virus in your mobile, due to which the phone can be completely hacked.

इस घोटाले में भेजी गई धुंधली तस्वीर के साथ कैप्शन लिखा होता है – “क्या आप इस तस्वीर में हैं?”, “मुझे आपकी पुरानी तस्वीर मिल गई है!”, “क्लिक करके देखें कि यह कौन है?” इस तरह की लाइनें पढ़ने के बाद ज़्यादातर लोग बिना सोचे-समझे उस तस्वीर पर क्लिक कर देते हैं।
जैसे ही आप उस तस्वीर को खोलने की कोशिश करते हैं, आपको एक फ़र्जी वेबसाइट पर भेज दिया जाता है, जहाँ आपसे व्यक्तिगत जानकारी, बैंक खाते की जानकारी या OTP मांगा जाता है। कई मामलों में, यह लिंक आपके मोबाइल में मैलवेयर या वायरस भी डाल सकता है, जिससे फ़ोन पूरी तरह से हैक हो सकता है।
