Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav has announced that under the ‘Vikramotsav 2025’ organized by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, people across the country and state will be introduced to the life and legacy of Samrat Vikramaditya — especially his valor, courage, generosity, sense of justice, and exemplary governance.
As part of this initiative, a grand theatrical production on Samrat Vikramaditya will be staged from April 12 to 14, 2025, at Madhav Das Park, Red Fort Grounds in Delhi.
Prior to this, on Friday, April 11, a grand procession of Samrat Vikramaditya will be taken out from Fatehpuri, Chandni Chowk to Red Fort, with Delhi’s Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta as the chief guest.
This mega theatrical performance is being organized by the Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Foundation, and the presentation will be delivered by the Vishala Cultural and Welfare Committee of Ujjain. The play has been written by Padma Shri Dr. Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit and directed by Shri Sanjeev Malviya.
The storyline will depict the journey of Vikramaditya from his birth to becoming an emperor, performed by around 250 artists. To bring the scenes to life, special effects involving palanquins, chariots, horses, and LED graphics will be used.
The reign of Samrat Vikramaditya — the founder of the Vikram Samvat — is considered a golden era in Indian literature, astrology, Ayurveda, mathematics, and medical sciences. This will be vividly portrayed in the theatrical presentation.
The Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Foundation will also organize an exhibition on “Coins and Stamps from the Vikramaditya Era.” Another exhibition titled “Arsha Bharat” focused on the contributions of Indian sages and scientists and will feature the lives and work of over 100 rishis.
The Public Relations Department will present an exhibition on the “Development and Achievements of Madhya Pradesh,” while the Tourism and Industries Departments will also showcase their respective displays.
The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation will set up a food court at the event venue, where visitors can savor the traditional delicacies of the state. The food court will feature regional specialties such as Baghelkhandi Nimona, Malwa’s Corn Patties and Bhutte ki Kees, Indori Poha, Vindhya’s Indrahaar-Kadhi-Bhaat, and unique beverages like Sannata, Lemon Mint, Aam Panna, Sabja Shikanji, Rose Lassi, and Kulhad Chai. Famous sweets like Mawa Bati, jalebi, and shree-anna-based dishes like Kodo Bhaat, Kutki-Gud Kheer, and Sawa Kheer will also be part of the menu.

मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. मोहन यादव ने कहा है कि मध्यप्रदेश शासन द्वारा ‘विक्रमोत्सव 2025’ के अंतर्गत देश और प्रदेश की सभी पीढ़ियों को सम्राट विक्रमादित्य के जीवन चरित्र, विशेषकर उनके पराक्रम, शौर्य, दानशीलता, न्यायप्रियता और सुशासन से अवगत कराया जा रहा है। इसी श्रृंखला में दिल्ली में 12 से 14 अप्रैल 2025 तक लाल किला मैदान के माधव दास पार्क में सम्राट विक्रमादित्य महानाट्य का भव्य मंचन किया जाएगा। इसके पहले शुक्रवार 11 अप्रैल को दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री श्रीमती रेखा गुप्ता के मुख्य आतिथ्य में फतेहपुरी, चांदनी चौक से लाल किला तक सम्राट विक्रमादित्य की शोभा यात्रा निकाली जाएगी।
महानाट्य का मंचन होगा
महाराजा विक्रमादित्य शोधपीठ द्वारा आयोजित इस महानाट्य में प्रस्तुति उज्जैन की विशाला सांस्कृतिक एवं लोकहित समिति द्वारा दी जाएगी। महानाट्य का लेखन पद्मश्री डॉ. भगवतीलाल राजपुरोहित और निर्दशन श्री संजीव मालवीय का है। महानाट्य में विक्रमादित्य के जन्म से लेकर सम्राट बनने तक की गाथाएं लगभग 250 कलाकारों द्वारा प्रदर्शित की जाएंगी। महानाट्य के दृश्यों को सजीव बनाने के लिए पालकी, रथ, घोड़ों और एलईडी ग्राफिक्स के स्पेशल इफेक्ट का प्रयोग किया जाएगा।
विक्रम संवत के प्रवर्तक सम्राट विक्रमादित्य का शासन काल भारतीय साहित्य, ज्योतिष, आयुर्वेद, गणित और चिकित्सा विज्ञान का स्वर्णिम युग भी रहा है, जिसे सम्राट विक्रमादित्य महानाट्य के माध्यम से जीवंत कर जनता के बीच प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा।
प्रदर्शनियां लगाई जाएंगी
कार्यक्रम में महाराजा विक्रमादित्य शोधपीठ द्वारा ‘विक्रमादित्यकालीन मुद्रा और मुद्रांक’ की प्रदर्शनी लगाई जाएगी। भारतीय ऋषि वैज्ञानिक परंपरा पर केंद्रित ‘आर्ष भारत’ प्रदर्शनी का भी आयोजन किया जाएगा, जिसमें 100 से अधिक ऋषियों के जीवन और योगदान को प्रदर्शित किया जाएगा। जनसंपर्क विभाग द्वारा ‘मध्यप्रदेश का विकास एवं उपलब्धियां’ विषय पर और पर्यटन एवं उद्योग विभाग द्वारा भी प्रदर्शनियां लगाई जाएंगी।
फूडकोर्ट लगाया जाएगा
मध्यप्रदेश राज्य पर्यटन विकास निगम द्वारा कार्यक्रम स्थल में फूडकोर्ट लगाया जाएगा। इसके माध्यम से दर्शक प्रदेश के पारंपरिक व्यंजनों का स्वाद ले सकेंगे। फूडकोर्ट में प्रदेश के विभिन्न अंचलों के पकवान- बघेलखंडी निमोना, मालवा की कॉर्न पेटिस और भुट्टे की कीस, इंदौरी पोहा और विंध्य की इंद्रहार-कढ़ी-भात उपलब्ध होंगे। प्रदेश के विशिष्ट पेय जैसे सन्नाटा, नींबू पुदीना, आम पना, सब्जा शिकंजी, गुलाब लस्सी, कुल्हड़ चाय, प्रसिद्ध मिष्ठान जैसे मावा बाटी, जलेबी और श्रीअन्न व्यंजन जैसे कोदो भात, कुटकी गुड खीर और सवां खीर भी मेनू में शामिल किए गए हैं।
