The tourism sector stands out as one of the top providers of employment with comparatively low investment. It has the unique ability to create large number of job opportunities compared to traditional industries or other sectors. Due to its unparalleled capacity to generate employment, the Madhya Pradesh government under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has introduced an initiative within just one year of his tenure aimed at transforming the tourism landscape. This initiative is known as the Vrindavan Gram Yojana.
If any state in the country has maximum rural tourism, then that state is Rajasthan. People from the country and the world come here to see and understand the rural environment.More or less on this pattern, preparations have been made to develop selected villages of Madhya Pradesh. During the one year tenure of Dr. Yadav, many innovative initiatives have been taken to promote tourism and this exercise is continuing, but the Vrindavan Gram Yojana and Home Stay Yojana in Tribal Areas will bring the diverse cultural heritage of the state alive for the tourism lovers of the country and the world.
The villages that will be selected under this scheme will be completely developed as ideal villages, that is, there will be no shortage of any kind of resources and facilities here. Here tourists will be able to stay in the houses built in the rural environment in the villages. Here such facilities will be developed that they will feel that they are in their own home.
The tourists will be exposed to the sweet smell of the soil of the village house and courtyard and then the dishes will also be served to them in a typical native style according to that environment. The villagers of the selected villages will be encouraged to rear cows, that is, the government will provide them livestock of five native breeds at concessional rates, which will also change the economy of those villages.
Not only this, efforts have started in the state to attract tourists by promoting homestays in tribal areas, which is expected to open new avenues of progress for the tribal community. Madhya Pradesh has already become a stronghold of religious and eco tourism.
