Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the country’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail from Bhuj to Ahmedabad. Just before the inauguration, Vande Metro has been renamed as Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. PM Modi also flagged off several Vande Bharat trains today.
On Monday, the first Vande Bharat trains with 20 coaches were inaugurated from Nagpur to Secunderabad, Kolhapur to Pune, Agra Cantt to Banaras, Durg to Visakhapatnam, Pune to Hubli and Varanasi to Delhi.
During this, PM Modi also addressed the people here. PM Modi said, ‘Everyone is celebrating Ganesh Utsav. Milad un-Nabi is also being celebrated today. Many festivals are being celebrated across the country. In this period of celebration, there is also a celebration of development. Today, the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 8,000 crore has been laid here. Today, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail has also been inaugurated.’
Along with this, PM Modi inaugurated the second phase of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Extension on Monday. The second phase of the metro rail network has been developed by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat and the Central Government. After the inauguration, the Prime Minister, along with Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, took a metro ride from Section 1 Metro Station to GIFT City Metro Station.
