During her day-long stay at Vrindavan, President Murmu will perform darshan and pooja at Shri Banke Bihari Temple, Nidhivan and Kubja Krishan Mandir.

She will also visit Sudama Kuti, Vrindavan and perform darshan and pooja at Shri Krishna Janmsthan, Mathura.

Mathura, the sacred city where Lord Krishna was born, is a treasure trove of temples that echo the divine tales of his life. The Krishna Kubja Temple is a 500-year-old temple, nestled in the quiet lanes of Krishna Puri Colony. It is not just a place of worship but a symbol of transformation, compassion, and divine healing.

The Krishna Kubja Temple, Mathura is steeped in a tale of divine mercy and transformation. According to the Bhagavata Purana, Kubja was a hunchbacked woman who served Kansa, the tyrant king of Mathura. Despite her physical deformities, Kubja had a heart full of devotion. When Krishna entered Mathura, she offered him sandalwood paste with pure love. Touched by her sincerity, Krishna placed his toes on her feet, lifted her chin with his fingers, and miraculously straightened her spine, curing her deformities and blessing her with beauty.

This act of compassion is immortalized in the Krishna Kubja Temple where a rare idol depicts Lord Krishna standing beside Kubja after her transformation. Unlike most temples where Krishna is seen with Radha, this temple uniquely honors Kubja, making it a one-of-a-kind spiritual site.

Banke Bihari Temple is situated in the town of Vrindavan, Mathura district. The temple is dedicated to Banke Bihari who is believed to be the combined form of Radha and Krishna. Banke Bihari was originally worshipped at Nidhivan, Vrindavan. Later, when Banke Bihari temple was constructed around 1864, the icon of Banke Bihari was moved to its present temple.

In Banke Bihari temple, the icon of Radha Krishna’s united form stands in the Tribhanga posture. Swami Haridas originally worshipped this murti under the name of Kunj Bihari which means the one who enjoys in the groves or Kunj of Vrindav.

The icon of Banke Bihari was originally worshiped by Swami Haridas under the name Kunjbihari. His disciples bestowed the name Banke Bihari due to the image’s tribhaá¹…ga posture. The icon’s appearance is celebrated on Bihar Panchami.
