BSSS Bhopal Unveils Student-Led Magazine ‘KAL-APNA’: A Platform for Social Work and Creative Expression

In a significant milestone for Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), the Department of Social Work launched its much-awaited student-led magazine, ‘KAL-APNA. This initiative, a brainchild of the department, embodies the creativity, social awareness, and academic insight of the MSW students.

The magazine was released under the leadership of Dr. Rutwik J. Gandhe, the Head of the Department of Social Work, who emphasized the importance of student-driven platforms that foster both intellectual and social growth. The launch of ‘KAL-APNA’ is seen as a testament to the department’s commitment to holistic education, blending theory, creativity, and real-world social work experiences.

The editorial team was led by Ms. Himali Sahu, a bright student of MSW Semester IV, whose leadership and vision played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and curating the magazine. Her dedicated team of student editors worked tirelessly to bring together a diverse range of articles, creative pieces, and social narratives that resonate with the mission of social work.

Providing mentorship and guidance to the students was Ms. Stella Samuel, Assistant Professor of the Department of Social Work, who served as the Faculty In-Charge. Her expertise, encouragement, and support were invaluable in ensuring the success of this project.

On the occasion of the release, Dr. Rutwik J. Gandhe, HOD – Social Work, expressed his pride, stating,
“‘KAL-APNA’ represents not just the voices of our students, but their commitment to making a difference. This magazine is a reflection of their creativity, passion, and their readiness to contribute to society in meaningful ways.”

In his closing remarks, Dr. Fr.
