Holi festival was celebrated with traditional gaiety and devotion today on 14th March at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Celebrations began by offering herbal gulaal to Lord Mahakal during the Bhasma Aarti held early in the morning. Along with this, a garland of makhana was offered to Baba Mahakal.
Taking a lesson from the last year’s fire incident, the Mahakal temple management did not allow the devotees to take gulaal with them this time for safety reasons. However, even after this, the enthusiasm of the devotees did not diminish. A large number of devotees were seen in the temple.
Like every year, this time also the devotees in Mahakal temple expressed their desire to play Holi with Lord. But after the incident of arson last year, security was tightened. This time herbal gulaal was specially offered to Lord Mahakal in the Bhasma Aarti. The devotees got the benefit of darshan and aarti only.
Holi, the festival of colours of Falgun, is being celebrated with great joy. In many districts of MP, people will be seen enjoying the Holi of colours till 2 pm, while after 2 pm till late evening, people will wish each other on the festival by applying abir-gulal.
The enthusiasm of Holi is visible everywhere. Today, on the day of Dhulendi, colours were first showered in the city of Baba Mahakal. Special Bhasma Aarti was performed at four in the morning. In which gulal was offered to Lord Mahakal.
The priests and the purohits offered gulal to Baba Mahakal with special chanting. With this, the official start of the Holi festival was made.
Before this, the tradition was also followed on Holika Dahan in Baba Mahakal’s temple. The women of the priest’s family performed a special puja of Baba Mahakal. A huge rangoli of cow dung cakes was decorated in the Omkareshwar temple premises. After this, Holika Dahan was performed with rituals.
This is how the tradition of colours was followed on Dhulendi this time in Ujjain’s Jyotirling Mahakal temple. The priests could only offer herbal gulaal and herbal colours made of saffron as a symbol to Lord Mahakal. Actually this decision was taken in the temple management committee meeting chaired by Ujjain collector and temple administrator Neeraj Kumar Singh.
The temple management committee had already banned the excessive use of colours in the name of Rangotsav. Along with this, the colours of Holi were not showered in the temple premises including Nandi Hall, Ganesh and Kartikeya Mandapam this time.

आज 14 मार्च को उज्जैन के श्री महाकालेश्वर मंदिर में होली का त्यौहार पारंपरिक उल्लास और भक्ति के साथ मनाया गया। सुबह-सुबह भस्म आरती के दौरान भगवान महाकाल को हर्बल गुलाल अर्पित करने के साथ ही होली की शुरुआत हुई। साथ ही बाबा महाकाल को मखाने की माला भी चढ़ाई गई।
पिछले साल आग लगने की घटना को देखते हुए मंदिर प्रबंधन ने इस बार सुरक्षा के कड़े इंतजाम किए थे और श्रद्धालुओं को गुलाल साथ लाने की अनुमति नहीं दी। हालांकि, इससे श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था कम नहीं हुई और मंदिर में बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु दर्शन के लिए पहुंचे।
इस साल बाबा महाकाल को हर्बल गुलाल लगाया गया। हर साल की तरह इस साल भी महाकाल मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं ने भगवान के साथ होली खेलने की इच्छा जताई। हालांकि, पिछले साल आगजनी की घटना के बाद सुरक्षा व्यवस्था कड़ी कर दी गई थी।
इस बार भस्म आरती के दौरान भगवान महाकाल को हर्बल गुलाल विशेष रूप से अर्पित किया गया और श्रद्धालुओं ने दर्शन और आरती का लाभ उठाया।
भस्म आरती: बड़ी संख्या में पहुंचे बाबा के भक्त
फाल्गुन में रंगों का त्योहार होली बड़े हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया जा रहा है। मध्य प्रदेश के कई जिलों में लोग दोपहर 2 बजे तक होली के रंगों का लुत्फ उठाते नजर आएंगे और इसके बाद देर शाम तक एक-दूसरे को अबीर और गुलाल लगाकर शुभकामनाएं देंगे। होली का उत्साह हर जगह दिखाई दे रहा है।
आज धुलेंडी के दिन सबसे पहले बाबा महाकाल की नगरी में रंगों की वर्षा की गई। सुबह चार बजे विशेष भस्म आरती की गई, जिसमें भगवान महाकाल को गुलाल अर्पित किया गया। पुजारियों और पुरोहितों ने विशेष मंत्रोच्चार के साथ बाबा महाकाल को गुलाल अर्पित किया, जिसके साथ ही होली उत्सव की आधिकारिक शुरुआत हो गई।
महिलाओं ने पूजा-अर्चना की
इससे पहले बाबा महाकाल के मंदिर में होलिका दहन के दौरान भी परंपरा का पालन किया गया। पुजारी परिवार की महिलाओं ने बाबा महाकाल की विशेष पूजा-अर्चना की और ओंकारेश्वर मंदिर परिसर में गोबर के उपलों से बनी बड़ी रंगोली सजाई गई। इसके बाद विधि-विधान के साथ होलिका दहन किया गया।
इस बार धुलेंडी पर पुजारी भगवान महाकाल को प्रतीक स्वरूप हर्बल गुलाल और केसर से बने हर्बल रंग ही अर्पित कर सकेंगे। यह निर्णय मंदिर प्रबंधन समिति की बैठक में लिया गया, जिसकी अध्यक्षता उज्जैन कलेक्टर और मंदिर प्रशासक नीरज कुमार सिंह ने की। मंदिर प्रबंधन समिति ने रंगोत्सव के नाम पर रंगों के अत्यधिक उपयोग पर पहले ही रोक लगा दी थी। साथ ही इस बार नंदी हॉल, गणेश और कार्तिकेय मंडपम समेत मंदिर परिसर में होली के रंग नहीं बरसाए गए।
