The Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Department is working on a plan to make Indore a signal-less city. Its objective is to operate traffic seamlessly in the city.
Initiatives like fly-overs, by-lanes, underpasses and intelligent traffic management systems are being implemented under the scheme. On completion of the scheme, the travel time of citizens in Indore city will be reduced and traffic will be smooth. The signal-less scheme will help to facilitate the rapidly growing urban traffic and reduce travel time.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is also being used to make traffic management more smart and efficient. This technology will also reduce accidents.
The Urban Public Transport Department is operating 1330 buses on urban routes in the urban areas of the state. With a view to keeping the environment clean in urban areas, a proposal for 552 e-buses in PM e-bus service has been sent to the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Estimates for bus depot infrastructure have been approved for Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain and Sagar. Along with this, estimates for charging infrastructure have been approved for Bhopal, Jabalpur, Ujjain and Sagar. To promote the operation of electric vehicles in 3 cities of the state, Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur, the work of developing 217 e-charging infrastructure is being done by the department.

नगरीय विकास एवं आवास विभाग इंदौर को सिग्नल-लैस शहर बनाने की योजना पर कार्य कर रहा है। इसका उद्देश्य शहर में यातायात को निर्बाध रूप से संचालित करना है।
योजना के तहत फ्लाई-ओवर, बाय-लेन, अंडर पास और इंटेलिजेंट ट्रैफिक मैनेजमेंट सिस्टम जैसी पहल लागू की जा रही हैं। योजना के पूरा होने पर इंदौर शहर में नागरिकों का यात्रा समय कम होगा और ट्रैफिक सुचारु रहेगा। सिग्नल-लैस योजना तेजी से बढ़ते शहरी यातायात को सुविधाजनक बनाने और यात्रा समय को कम करने में मदद करेगी।
ऑर्टीफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (एआई) का उपयोग यातायात प्रबंधन को अधिक स्मॉर्ट और कुशल बनाने में भी किया जा रहा है। इस तकनीक से दुघर्टनाओं में कमी भी आयेगी।
शहरी लोक परिवहन विभाग द्वारा प्रदेश के शहरी क्षेत्रों में 1330 बसों का संचालन शहरी मार्गों पर किया जा रहा है। शहरी क्षेत्रों में पर्यावरण को स्वच्छ बनाये रखने की दृष्टि से पीएम ई-बस सेवा में 552 ई-बसों का प्रस्ताव केन्द्रीय आवासन एवं शहरी कार्य मंत्रालय को भेजा गया है।
बस डिपो अधोसंरचना के भोपाल, इंदौर, जबलपुर, उज्जैन एवं सागर के प्राक्कलन (estimate) स्वीकृत किये गये हैं। इसी के साथ चार्जिंग अधोसंरचना के भोपाल, जबलपुर, उज्जैन एवं सागर के प्राक्कलन स्वीकृत किये गये हैं। प्रदेश के 3 शहरों भोपाल, इंदौर एवं जबलपुर में इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों के संचालन को बढ़ावा देने के लिये 217 ई-चार्जिंग अधोसंरचना विकास का कार्य विभाग द्वारा किया जा रहा है।
