Governor Mangubhai Patel said that youth should use their education and talent not only for personal success but also in the interest of society, environment and nation. The energy, innovation and spirit of public service of youth are important for building a developed India by 2047. He called upon students to maintain humility along with success and always remember the contribution of their parents, teachers and society.
Governor Patel said this while addressing students at the convocation ceremony of Barkatullah University, Bhopal. The convocation programme was organised at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre on Friday.
Governor Patel remembered the patriotism and spirit of serving his motherland of great freedom fighter and educationist Barkatullahji. He said that a convocation ceremony is a celebration of years of hard work, discipline and dedication of students, which opens the doors to new responsibilities and opportunities in their lives.
Governor Mangubhai Patel appreciated the theme of the convocation ceremony, ‘Initiative To Build Developed India Through Green Energy’, and said that environmental protection is also necessary along with development.
Referring to the example of a teacher couple in the Rann of Kutch who built the boundary wall of a school through plantation with the participation of children, he said that the work may be small, but if the thinking is big and the resolve is strong, its impact is far-reaching.
Higher, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar expressed gratitude for the system of regularly organising convocation programmes of the university. He said that participation of girls in higher education is continuously increasing.
Vice Chancellor of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Prof. K. Rangarajan paid his respects to the university and said that he is its alumnus. He said that he feels proud to participate in the convocation ceremony.
Additional Chief Secretary and Vice Chancellor of Barkatullah University Anupam Rajan said that Ph.D. degrees will be awarded to 85 research scholars and gold medals to 27 students at the convocation ceremony. He administered the convocation oath to the students at the programme.
