Bhopal: The Department of Life Sciences, Rabindranath Tagore University, successfully organized a two-day skill-based workshop on “Low-Cost Mushroom Cultivation.” Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Dr. Ankit Agarwal, Dean (In-Charge), Faculty of Science, were the chief guests at the inaugural session. Participants learned about the commercial potential of low-cost mushroom cultivation and the market opportunities available.
On this occasion, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta encouraged students to work towards innovative thinking and problem-solving. He stated that the University’s Academic Innovation Center (AIC) will provide ongoing support and guidance to translate students’ ideas into practical forms, enabling them to develop into successful startups and business ventures in the future.
Following the inauguration, Dr. Suchi Modi conducted theoretical and practical sessions on mushroom production, in which students gained hands-on experience with mushroom cultivation techniques.
On the second day of the workshop, Neeraj Raghuvanshi, CEO of Narmada Vahini Organic Farming Production Company Limited, provided hands-on training on mushroom bag preparation and shared useful information on the business potential and market opportunities of low-cost mushroom production.
The workshop was ably conducted by Dr. Suchi Modi. Faculty members and students from the Science and Humanities faculties participated enthusiastically.
