
Bhopal: 8 kg rare tumor has been removed from stomach of 18 year old girl after successful operation at Sagar Multi Specialty Hospital (SMH) located on Hoshangabad Road in Bhopal. The girl was suffering from stomach pain, indigestion and vomiting for the last 6 months. She did not feel hungry and due to not eating, her weight was also continuously decreasing. The family members of the girl tried treatment in many hospitals but did not get any relief.
The patient’s family met cancer specialist Dr. Shubham Pandey at Sagar Multi Specialty Hospital. Investigation in the hospital revealed that the girl has a very large tumor near the left kidney and pancreas. The patient was facing a lot of trouble due to the large tumor.
The hospital’s cancer surgeon Dr. Shubham Pandey studied the disease in detail and planned the surgery. The size of the tumor was large and was stuck to the great arteries due to its spread in two organs, kidney and pancreas, due to which the surgery was quite challenging.
The hospital’s cancer specialist Dr. Shubham Pandey, anesthesia and critical care specialist Dr. Mahesh S Kurve and his team successfully removed the 8 kg tumor from the patient’s stomach after a complex surgery of 8 hours. After the operation, the girl was kept in post-operative care and was discharged after recovery and has been kept for routine follow-up.
