Mumbai: Nirmal Kapoor, mother of famous Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor, actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, bid adieu to the world on May 2. She breathed her last at the age of 90 in Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai. The Kapoor family is in mourning due to her death.
Boney Kapoor was very close to his mother and the filmmaker is heartbroken by the death of his mother. He paid a heartfelt tribute to his mother by sharing an emotional note on his social media on Saturday.
Boney Kapoor shared a post on Instagram and wrote that “On May 2, 2025, mother breathed her last peacefully among our loving family. She lived a full and happy life. She leaves behind four devoted children, lovely daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a lifetime of precious memories.”
He further wrote that “Her boundless love and affection touched everyone who ever came in contact with her. She will always live in our hearts and will never be forgotten.”
At the end of this emotional post, he paid tribute to the mother on behalf of the entire family. With this post, Boney Kapoor only wrote in the caption – “Mother.”
Nirmal Kapoor was the wife of late filmmaker Surinder Kapoor and was considered the head of the Kapoor family. She had a very simple nature and was often seen attending family functions or any event.
Last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans in Mumbai
Nirmal Kapoor’s last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai at 11.30 am on May 3. On hearing the news of Nirmal Kapoor’s death, many Bollywood celebs reached his house.
Anil Kapoor’s best friend and veteran actor Anupam Kher also arrived to pay their last respects to Nirmal Kapoor. Javed Akhtar and Jackie Shroff also came to the actor’s house to share his grief.
