Sattu is considered a traditional superfood especially in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
With the help of sattu, you can make tasty sattu sharbat. If you get a glass of this drink after coming from the scorching sun and heat, then within minutes your tiredness goes away and you feel full of energy. If you want to do something new in Sattu Sharbat then you can add mint and mango.
How to prepare Sattu Sharbat
What are the ingredients needed
Two tablespoons Sattu flour [Sattu flour, also known as roasted gram flour, is a flour made from roasted and ground chana dal (Bengal gram or chickpeas). It is a staple in many Indian regions, particularly in states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Sattu flour and Besan are not the same. While both are made from chickpeas or chana dal, Sattu is made by roasting chickpeas and then grinding them, while Besan is made by grinding raw chickpeas. Sattu is typically made from roasted chana dal (split chickpeas) and sometimes roasted barley, whereas Besan is pure raw chickpea flour.]
One glass cold water
Sugar or jaggery to taste
1/4 teaspoon black salt
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
4-5 mint leaves
2-4 mango buds or 2-4 pieces of raw mango
1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin (jeera) powder
Ice cubes
Prepare in this way
1: To make the drink, first of all, put mango buds or raw mango pieces, mint leaves, green chillies in the grinder and prepare a paste.
2: Now take water and sattu and put them in a big vessel and mix well.
3: Add rock salt, roasted cumin and powdered sugar or jaggery in it.
4: After this, add onion, green chilli, coriander leaves and lemon juice (optional) and mix it.
5: After this, add mango-mint chutney in the sattu solution and mix it with the help of a spoon.
6: After mixing, take it out in a serving glass, add ice cubes and serve.
