
AIIMS Bhopal’s Dr. Rekha Jiwane and Dr. Ragini Shrivastava, Additional Professors in the Department of Physiology, represented the institute at the prestigious American Physiology Summit 2025, held from April 24–27, 2025, in Baltimore, USA.
Dr. Rekha Jiwane presented her academic poster titled “Student Perceptions of Reflective Writing in Physiology: Insights into Academic and Professional Growth.” In her presentation, Dr. Jiwane emphasized how the integration of reflective writing into physiology education can significantly enhance the learning experiences of medical students.
Dr. Rekha Jiwane highlighted that reflective writing not only improves academic performance and retention but also fosters personal and professional development. According to her, this innovative approach promotes a holistic model of medical education, encouraging students to become thoughtful, engaged, and lifelong learners.
Dr. Ragini Shrivastava presented her research poster on “Clinical Efficacy of Yoga Practices and Naturopathy in the Management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome,” a study funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Dr. Shrivastava shared valuable insights demonstrating that yoga and naturopathy are effective complementary medicine approaches in managing PCOS. Her findings indicated improvements in overall health, hormonal balance, sleep quality, anxiety reduction, and menstrual cycle regularization among the participants.
