Dehradun: Life has been thrown out of gear following incessant heavy rainfall in many hill districts of Uttarakhand for the last two-three days. Cloudburst has wreaked havoc in Nandprayag of Chamoli district. The police and administration are engaged in rescue work. Chamoli Police shared this information on its social media account.
The police have informed that the police and relief rescue team are present on the spot. After the cloudburst incident, the water level of the rivers has risen. Therefore, people around are being appealed to be cautious.
Local people have told that the effect of continuous rain for the last two-three days is visible in many hill districts of Uttarakhand. Due to heavy rain, major damage has occurred at many places. At the same time, on the information of cloudburst near Nandprayag in Chamoli district, police and relief force reached the spot. But there is no report of any loss of life there yet.
Due to cloudburst in Chamoli, many households have been ruined in the surrounding affected areas. Houses in the cloudburst area have been flooded. This has caused a lot of loss to the people. Some houses have been badly damaged. People’s vehicles have also been washed away.
Cloudburst in Nandprayag triggers massive landslide
The cloudburst in Nandprayag triggered a massive landslide causing panic among residents. The landslide sent massive amounts of debris cascading down the mountains. Eyewitness footage and images from the scene reveal a terrifying sight — heavy rubble rushing downhill, swallowing everything in its path.
Many vehicles have been reported buried under the debris, and a local shop suffered extensive damage. The shopkeeper, visibly shaken, narrowly escaped the impact. The landslide also disrupted transportation, as debris blocked the crucial Badrinath Highway near Nandprayag, halting traffic and cutting off access to nearby regions. Emergency teams have been deployed, and the area has been cordoned off for safety.
Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far. Authorities have moved quickly to assess the damage and are urging the public to stay away from high-risk zones prone to such natural disasters.
Apart from this, there was news of damage due to heavy rain in Tharali of Chamoli district. A storm in Gadera near Ramlila Maidan in Tharali brought a huge amount of debris, in which two vehicles were hit. However, no information has been received about loss of life. Apart from this, the National Highway was also closed, but later BRO worked hard and opened it.

अधिकारियों ने बादल फटने के कारण नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ने की चेतावनी दी है और आस-पास रहने वालों से सावधानी बरतने का आग्रह किया है। स्थानीय निवासियों ने बताया कि लगातार बारिश का असर कई पहाड़ी जिलों में साफ दिख रहा है और कई इलाकों में भारी नुकसान हुआ है। सौभाग्य से, नंदप्रयाग में बादल फटने की घटना से किसी के हताहत होने की खबर नहीं है।
कई घर तबाह हो गए
बादल फटने से आसपास के इलाकों में कई घर तबाह हो गए हैं, घरों में पानी भर गया है और भारी नुकसान हुआ है। कई घरों को भारी नुकसान पहुंचा है और निजी वाहन बाढ़ के पानी में बह गए हैं।
भूस्खलन के बाद निवासियों में दहशत
नंदप्रयाग में बादल फटने से भारी भूस्खलन भी हुआ, जिससे निवासियों में दहशत फैल गई। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों ने बताया कि भारी मलबा पहाड़ों से नीचे गिर रहा था, जिससे कई वाहन दब गए और एक स्थानीय दुकान क्षतिग्रस्त हो गई। दुकानदार इस आपदा से बाल-बाल बच गया, वह इस घटना से काफी सदमे में था।
भूस्खलन के कारण परिवहन मार्ग बाधित हो गए हैं, जिससे बद्रीनाथ राजमार्ग अवरुद्ध हो गया और आस-पास के क्षेत्रों तक पहुंच कट गई है। स्थिति का आकलन करने के लिए आपातकालीन टीमों को तैनात किया गया है और सुरक्षा के लिए क्षेत्र की घेराबंदी कर दी गई है।
सौभाग्य से, अब तक किसी के हताहत होने की सूचना नहीं मिली है और अधिकारी नुकसान का आकलन करने के लिए तेजी से काम कर रहे हैं, साथ ही लोगों को ऐसी प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के लिए अतिसंवेदनशील उच्च जोखिम वाले क्षेत्रों से बचने की सलाह दे रहे हैं।
चमोली जिले के थराली में नुकसान
इसके अलावा, भारी बारिश ने चमोली जिले के थराली में नुकसान पहुंचाया है, जहां रामलीला मैदान के पास आए तूफान के कारण मलबा दो वाहनों पर गिर गया। शुक्र है कि इस घटना में भी किसी के हताहत होने की खबर नहीं है। तूफान के कारण राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग अस्थायी रूप से बंद हो गया था, लेकिन सीमा सड़क संगठन (बीआरओ) ने कड़ी मेहनत की और इसे पुनः खोल दिया।
