
Salman Khan’s action film Sikandar will release on March 30, breaking the typical Friday release trend with a Sunday debut.
At a press event of Sikandar film, Salman Khan said that making films of high budget is also a responsible job. Its script should be strong. He also expressed his dismay that the way of storytelling in Bollywood films is not as attractive as in South films.
Salman Khan also said that there are projects like Ramayana and many such projects, due to which people from Bollywood and South are getting a chance to work together. Many technicians, directors and actors from South are working together with people from Bollywood.
Salman also admitted that Bollywood films do not work in the South because the fans there are very loyal to their stars. He also said that people in the South recognize him, say hi-hello, but he is still unsuccessful in pulling those people to the theater. During this, he talked about the films of Rajinikanth, Ram Charan and Surya that Hindi audience watches their films a lot.
Salman Khan said that Bollywood audience also watches the films of South stars, whereas South audience is loyal to their favourite actors and they do not watch anyone else’s films except them. He said that we accept South films, we go and watch their films, but the fans there do not always watch our films.
Meanwhile, ‘Sikandar’ has surpassed the advance booking business of his own film, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’. As of 10 am on Friday, the AR Murugadaoss directorial grossed 4.05 crore for its opening day, and Rs 9.38 crore with blocked seats.
The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, sold 1.38 lakh tickets for Sunday. This is more than what ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ grossed in its pre-sales. The film, which was released in April 2023, grossed Rs 3.39 crore for its opening day by selling 1.29 lakh tickets.
