Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday and met the porters. He talked to the them for nearly 40 minutes and learnt about their problems.
A porter Deepesh Meena said that we are very happy that Rahul Gandhi came to meet us. He said, “Rahul asked us about our problems. We hope that he will solve them. We told him about the porters injured in the stampede here.”
After meeting the porters, Rahul said that often the light of humanity shines the brightest in the darkest times.
He said, “During the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, the porter brothers set an example of humanity and saved the lives of many passengers. For this, I thanked them today on behalf of the countrymen.”
Rahul said it is important to take lessons from such accidents. “These can be prevented by crowd control, use of modern technology, better infrastructure and strengthening emergency arrangements.”
Rahul said it is hoped that the government will take concrete steps in this direction so that passengers of every class can travel safely.
Rahul has met porters before as well. Earlier in September 2023, Rahul Gandhi had gone to Anand Vihar Railway Station. There too he talked to the porters and listened to theirproblems. During that time, Rahul Gandhi also lifted the luggage of the passengers wearing the dress of a porter.
दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर कुलियों से मिले राहुल गांधी, कुलियों ने क्या कहा, मुलाकात के बाद राहुल क्या बोले?
राहुल गांधी शनिवार को नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पहुंचे और पोर्टर्स (कुलियों) से मुलाकात की। इस दौरान उन्होंने करीब 40 मिनट तक कुलियों से बातचीत की और उनकी समस्याओं के बारे में जाना।
कुली दीपेश मीना ने कहा कि हमें बहुत खुशी है कि राहुल गांधी हमसे मिलने आए। उन्होंने हमारी समस्याओं के बारे में पूछा। हमें उम्मीद है कि वह इनका समाधान करेंगे। हमने उन्हें यहां भगदड़ में घायल हुए कुलियों के बारे में बताया।
कुलियों से मुलाकात के बाद राहुल ने कहा कि अक्सर इंसानियत की रोशनी सबसे अंधेरे समय में चमकती है। उन्होंने कहा, “नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर भगदड़ के दौरान कुली भाइयों ने इंसानियत की मिसाल पेश की और कई यात्रियों की जान बचाई। इसके लिए मैं आज देशवासियों की ओर से उनका आभार व्यक्त करता हूं।”
राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि ऐसी दुर्घटनाओं से सीख लेना जरूरी है। “भीड़ नियंत्रण, आधुनिक तकनीक का इस्तेमाल, बेहतर बुनियादी ढांचे और आपातकालीन व्यवस्था को मजबूत करके इन्हें रोका जा सकता है।” राहुल ने कहा कि उम्मीद है कि सरकार इस दिशा में ठोस कदम उठाएगी ताकि हर वर्ग के यात्री सुरक्षित यात्रा कर सकें।
राहुल पहले भी कुलियों से मिल चुके हैं। इससे पहले सितंबर 2023 में राहुल गांधी आनंद विहार रेलवे स्टेशन गए थे। वहां भी उन्होंने कुलियों से बात की थी और उनकी समस्याएं सुनी थीं। उस दौरान राहुल गांधी ने कुली की ड्रेस पहनकर यात्रियों का सामान भी उठाया था।
