After meeting US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in Washington on Friday, Ukraine President Zelenskyy tweeted 14 times on Saturday saying that he wants peace.
He thanked the US for supporting Ukraine and said that it is very important for him to get the support of President Trump.
He also wrote that he is ready for a mineral deal and if this agreement is reached, it will be the first step towards security guarantees.
In his tweet, Zelenskyy talked about the importance of strong relations between Ukraine and America and wrote that he hopes that Ukraine will get the support of America.
Zelenskyy wrote, “We are very grateful for all the support of the United States. I am grateful to President Trump and Congress for their non-partisan support, as well as to the American people for standing by us. The Ukrainian people have always appreciated this support, especially during the last three years after this invasion.”
“The US support was important in maintaining our existence and I want to acknowledge it. Despite the bitter talks, we will remain strategic partners. But we need to be honest and clear with each other to truly understand our common goals.”
Referring to the need for US help for Ukraine, Zelenskyy wrote, “It is extremely important for us to have the support of President Trump. He wants to end the war and no one wants peace more than us. We are the ones living this war in Ukraine. This is a fight for our freedom and our existence.”
Zelenskyy wrote, “As former US President Reagan once said, ‘Peace does not mean just the absence of war.’ We are talking about a just and lasting peace, that is, freedom, justice and human rights for all. A ceasefire with Russian President Putin will be of no use. He has broken the ceasefire 25 times in the last 10 years. Real peace is the only solution.”
After the heated debate during the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump on Friday, it was believed that the mineral agreement that Trump wanted to make with Ukraine has now been put on hold.
But Zelenskyy wrote on his social media platform on Saturday that he is ready for this agreement.
He wrote, “We are ready to sign the mineral agreement and this will be the first step towards security guarantees. But this is not enough and we need more than this. A ceasefire without security guarantees is dangerous for Ukraine. We have been fighting for three years and the Ukrainian people need to know that America is on our side.”
Zelensky wrote that he wants permanent peace and security guarantees. He wrote, “I cannot change Ukraine’s stance on Russia. The Russian people are killing us. Russia is the enemy and we are facing this reality. Ukraine wants peace but it should be permanent. For this we have to be strong during the talks. Peace will come only when we get security guarantees, when our army is strong and our allies are with us.”

पूर्व अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति रीगन को उद्धृत करते हुए उन्होंने कहा, “शांति का मतलब सिर्फ़ युद्ध की अनुपस्थिति नहीं है। हम एक न्यायपूर्ण और स्थायी शांति की बात कर रहे हैं, यानी सभी के लिए स्वतंत्रता, न्याय और मानवाधिकार। रूसी राष्ट्रपति पुतिन के साथ युद्धविराम का कोई फ़ायदा नहीं होगा। उन्होंने पिछले 10 वर्षों में 25 बार युद्धविराम तोड़ा है। वास्तविक शांति ही एकमात्र समाधान है।”
यह अनुमान लगाया जा रहा है कि ट्रम्प द्वारा वांछित खनिज समझौते में देरी हो सकती है। लेकिन ज़ेलेंस्की ने समझौते के साथ आगे बढ़ने की अपनी इच्छा दोहराई।
