Amid heavy snowfall in the high altitude areas of Uttarakhand, 32 out of 57 Border Roads Organisation workers trapped in the avalanche in the border Mana village near Badrinath in Chamoli district have been rescued safely Meanwhile, a warning has been issued for the next 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir regarding avalanches.
The weather department said that there is a possibility of high danger avalanches at an altitude of above 2500 meters in Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, according to information received from the Disaster Management Department of Uttarakhand, by 5 pm, 32 people trapped in the avalanche six kilometers ahead of Badrinath Dham have been rescued safely, while the process of evacuating the remaining 25 others is underway.
The Uttarakhand Disaster Management Department said,” By 5:00 pm, 32 people had been rescued safely. The process of evacuating the remaining 25 people is in progress. Relief and rescue work is going on on a war footing to rescue people trapped in the snow.
That there was an avalanche at the BRO workers’ camp located between Mana and Badrinath, due to which the workers were buried in the snow. After receiving information about the incident, employees of police, army, Border Roads Organization, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, State Disaster Response Force and Disaster Management Department reached the spot and started rescue and relief work.
There is no information about any casualties in this incident yet. Mana is the last village situated on the Indo-Tibet border which is located at an altitude of 3200 meters, about three kilometers away from Badrinath. Badrinath Dham is situated on the foothills of Nar and Narayan mountains, in the middle of which flows the Alaknanda river. The accident happened due to an avalanche from Nar mountain.
उत्तराखंड के ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में भारी बर्फबारी के बीच चमोली जिले के बद्रीनाथ के नजदीक माणा गांव के पास हिमस्खलन में फंसे सीमा सड़क संगठन के 57 में से 32 कर्मियों को सुरक्षित बचा लिया गया है। इस बीच, जम्मू-कश्मीर में अगले 24 घंटे के लिए हिमस्खलन के खतरे को लेकर चेतावनी जारी की गई है।
चेतावनी में अगले 24 घंटे में डोडा, किश्तवाड़, पुंछ, राजौरी, रामबन और रियासी जिलों में 2500 मीटर से अधिक ऊंचाई वाले क्षेत्र में हिमस्खलन का उच्च ख़तरा बताया गया है।
उत्तराखंड के आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार, शाम पांच बजे तक बद्रीनाथ धाम से छह किलोमीटर आगे हिमस्खलन में फंसे 32 कर्मियों को बचा लिया गया है, जबकि शेष 25 कर्मियों को निकालने के प्रयास जारी हैं। उत्तराखंड आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग ने बताया, “शाम पांच बजे तक 32 लोगों को सुरक्षित बचा लिया गया था। शेष 25 लोगों को निकालने की प्रक्रिया जारी है। बर्फ में फंसे लोगों की सहायता के लिए युद्धस्तर पर राहत एवं बचाव कार्य चलाया जा रहा है।
हिमस्खलन माणा और बद्रीनाथ के बीच स्थित बीआरओ के श्रमिकों के शिविर में हुआ, जिससे श्रमिक बर्फ में दब गए। घटना की सूचना मिलने पर पुलिस, सेना, सीमा सड़क संगठन, भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस, राज्य आपदा प्रतिवादन बल और आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग के जवान बचाव एवं राहत कार्य शुरू करने के लिए तुरंत घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे।
फिलहाल इस घटना में किसी के हताहत होने की सूचना नहीं है। 3200 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्थित माणा भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पर आखिरी गांव है, जो बद्रीनाथ से करीब तीन किलोमीटर दूर है। बद्रीनाथ धाम नर और नारायण पर्वत की तलहटी में स्थित है, जहां से अलकनंदा नदी बहती है। हादसा नर पर्वत से हुए हिमस्खलन के कारण हुआ।
