
Considering the Janjatiya Gourav Varsh 15 November 2024 to 15 November 2025 , as notified by the Government of India, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bhopal organized its intercollege NIFT Fest, Spectum 2025 on the theme of Janjatiya Gourav Varsh (tribal pride year). In line with the visionary aspect of NIFT, Lt. Col. Ashish Agarwal, Director NIFT Bhopal had selected this theme in the year 2024 itself.
NIFT Spectrum has been named “Adivista” , a term derived from Sanskrit, combines “Adi”, meaning ancient, with “Vista”, signifying a beautiful view. This theme is expected to inspire students to draw inspiration from traditional roots while envisioning a vibrant, modern landscape.
On the first day of Spectrum, various stalls, cultural and sports activities were organised.
The second day of Spectrum – 22nd February 2025 commenced with the Alumni Meet 2025. The Alumni Meet was organised by Ms Namrata Singh, Assistant Professor and Regional Industry Coordinator (RIC). This special event became a memorable opportunity to meet old friends, relive campus moments and explore new collaborations.
In this program Distinguished alumni award was presented to NIFT Alumni Abhijeet Banik.
The main attraction of the Spectrum Fashion Show held on 22 February 2025 was the “Tribal Round” in which 16 members of Bhil community displayed their traditional costumes by participating as models in the fashion show.
The objective of this program is to attempt to honor and showcase the rich cultural heritage by showcasing the traditional costumes and jwellery of the tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh. As part of this effort, the cultural beauty of Madhya Pradesh mainly associated with the Bhil tribe was displayed.
The costumes designed by NIFT students were showcased by the models (NIFT students) on the ramp in the 3 rounds.
The theme of the first round was ‘Quasar‘, which focused on the fusion of dazzling and impressive elements. It had 61 designers and 17 models. The mentor of this round was Ms. Shweta Chauhan, Assistant Professor, NIFT Bhopal.
The theme of the second round is ‘Aetherion‘, which focused on the vision of science and technology blended with the wonders of the world. It had 46 designers and 15 models. The mentor of this round was Ms. Neha Verma, Assistant Professor, NIFT Bhopal.
The theme of the third round was ‘Neotopio‘ which focused on a new world with imaginative characters. It had 37 designers and 13 models. The mentor of this round was Mr. Ayan Tiwari, Associate Professor, NIFT Bhopal.
There were a total of 61 models and 144 designers in the entire fashion show.
The Chief Guest at NIFT Spectrum 2025 was Vinod Kumar IAS, Additional Chief Secretary cum Director, Tribal Research and Development Institute (TRDI), Bhopal. The Chief Guest praised the theme of NIFT’s fashion show and appreciated the unique performance and hard work of the students.
