Bhopal: Sudhir Mota’s verses enthrall at Club Literati’s book discussion

The book discussion organized by Club Literati at Bhopal’s Swami Vivekananda Library turned out to be a unique evening, coinciding with the eve of Valentine’s Day and the peak of spring.

Renowned poet Sudhir Mota recited select poems from his new book, Ishq Kambal Ban Gaya Hai transporting the audience to memories of unique love experiences. His titular poem, Ishq Kambal Ban Gaya Hai, Odhe Phirata Hoon Raat Din presented the helplessness of love in a distinct manner.

Other lines, such as Yeh umda hai naukri, ismein tankha nahi kata highlighted another aspect of love in a humorous tone. Another poem, Tu hi dikhti hai mujhe yahan aur paani evoked the feeling of being alone with one’s love, surrounded by nature.

Sudhir Mota has nine published books to his credit and has received awards such as the Rashtriya Hindi Seva Samman, Raza Puraskar, and Vageeshwari Puraskar. Senior ghazal writer Vijay Wate moderated the event, using questions and his vast literary experience to delve deeper into Sudhir Mota’s poems. Wate also recited some of his own ghazals.

Sudhir Mota shared his experiences and insights into the creative process and the prevalence of love in life. The event was hosted by Lokesh Gulyani, and veteran writer and publisher Pankaj Subeer also addressed the audience.

A special feature of the event was the musical rendition of some of Sudhir Mota’s poems by Lokesh Gulyani. Club President Seema Raizada said that the event was a fit expression of the spring sentiments and emotions.-
