
In a significant achievement, Dr. Nehal Shah, a distinguished physiotherapist from the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC), along with two participants has been honored with the Best Poster Award during the final capstone project of the ICMR Health Communications Course (IHCC) 2024-25.
The poster was made on the topic ‘Combating Anemia in Adolescent Females in Rural Areas.’ This prestigious six-month course was organized by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in partnership with MICA’s Centre for Development Management and Communication (CDMC) and Global Health Strategies (GHS).
ABOUT THE COURSE: The IHCC, launched in July 2024, is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering healthcare professionals with advanced skills in health communication.
The course emphasizes the importance of effectively disseminating health information to the public, addressing misinformation, and fostering trust in medical science. It integrates theoretical insights with practical applications, equipping participants with the tools to design impactful health communication strategies for diverse audiences.
Recognizing the critical role of communication in public health, ICMR has partnered with premier institutions like MICA and GHS to bridge the gap between scientific research and community awareness. The program provides hands-on training in designing posters, campaigns, and other communication tools that enhance public engagement and improve health outcomes.
BMHRC Participants Excel in IHCC
BMHRC sent five doctors who cleared the rigorous entrance exam to participate in this distinguished course:
