11 days after the Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP Legislature Party has elected Devendra Fadnavis as the leader. Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar proposed the name and Pankaja Munde supported Fadnavis’ name.
According to sources, the names of Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar have been finalized for the Deputy CM. The Mahayuti meeting will be held at 2 pm.
The names of the ministers will be finalized in this meeting with Fadnavis, Shinde and Pawar. After this, the Chief Minister and 2 Deputy CMs will meet the Governor and stake claim to form the government.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow i.e. on December 5 at Azad Maidan. In this, the Chief Minister and both the Deputy CMs will take oath at 5:30 pm. It is not clear how many ministers will take oath with them or not.
After being elected leader, Fadnavis said, “In the first two and a half years, attempts were made to harass us in many ways. Even in such a situation, not a single MLA of ours broke away and our government was formed again in 2022.”
He said further, “We have to fulfill the expectations of the public. We have to take all our friends along. I assure the people of Maharashtra that we will work 24 hours for the welfare of the state.”
After Fadnavis being elected as the leader of the legislative party, now the leaders of the three parties i.e. Shinde, Ajit, Fadnavis and some leaders will hold a meeting.
This will be the first official meeting of the Mahayuti. The cabinet division will be finalized in the meeting.
At 3:30 pm, the three leaders will go to meet the Governor with a delegation and stake claim to form the government.
