A National Discussion cum Workshop on Creditisation of Skill-based Programmes & Apprenticeship Training” was recently inaugurated at NITTTR Bhopal. The objective of this workshop was to discuss the subject of evaluating and giving credit to apprentices working for one year in industries and institutions under the National Credit Framework.
This workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest Raghuraj Madhav Rajendran, Secretary Department of Technical Education Madhya Pradesh. Raghuraj said that skills should be mapped with the industry which will increase employment opportunities.
Special guest Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India said that PM internship will provide important experience, which will prove helpful in professional development. As India’s economy and industry sector is developing, the importance of skill-based education is also increasing. The National Credit Framework and the National Education Policy will help in preparing the youth for the workplace and making them skilled as per the requirements of the industry. NITTTR Bhopal is playing an important role in this direction.
Director of the institute Prof. CC Tripathi said that this is the first national education policy which has given a new dimension to skill development. Following the National Education Policy, big changes are going to come in the world of education and industry. Prof. B L Gupta highlighted the paperless process of evaluation and credit award of apprentice training.
Certificates were distributed to the apprentice training candidates of the first batch of NITTTR Bhopal. 10 massive open online course (MOOC) programs made by the institute in emerging areas have also been launched. The directors of the Boards of Apprenticeship Training of Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Kanpur also addressed the program.
On this occasion, representatives of other NITTTR of the country from Chennai, Kolkata and Chandigarh, various industries, education and skill development institutions also participated in the workshop. The coordinator of the workshop was Dr. Sanjay Agarwal. The program was conducted by Dr. Anjana Tiwari.
