Madhya Pradesh Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Thursday inspected the ROB construction site which will directly connect the area near Khedapati Hanuman Temple at Chhola with Dwarka Nagar Coach Factory near Bhopal Railway Station Platform No. 1. All the people of Bhopal will benefit from ROB. Due to connectivity, all the residents of Karond, Berasia, Station, Chhola, Arera Colony, BHEL, Minal and Nishatpura area will get its benefit.
Minister Sarang said that this is his dream project. After its construction, about 15 km detour will be saved. ROB’s Bhoomi Pujan will be performed soon.
Minister Sarang said that this ROB will descend near Khedapati Hanuman Temple in Chhola via Dwarka Nagar near Bhopal Railway Station. Its length will be about 610 meters and width will be 9.5 meters. He said that this will be the first ROB in Bhopal to be built over 6 railway tracks, which will present a unique example of engineering for the country. About 15 lakh population will be benefited by its construction.
Sarang said that the construction of ROB is being done by the Railways at a cost of about 90 crores. The first phase amount of Rs 72 crore has been released to the Railways by the government. Its tenders and work orders have been done. This bridge will be completed in 18 months.
Minister Sarang said that with its construction, connectivity of old and new Bhopal along with Vidisha, Berasia and surrounding areas will be strengthened. This will facilitate the movement of the people of the area.
He said that at present, small vehicles going from Bhopal platform number-1 towards Chhola have to pass through the culvert. On the other hand, big vehicles have to take a long detour from Bharat Talkies ROB to go from station platform number-1 towards Chhola. Construction of ROB will save a long detour of 15 kilometers.
Minister Sarang said that passengers going to the airport from Bhopal station have to pass through old Bhopal. This takes a lot of time. With the construction of this ROB, passengers will be able to reach the airport in less time from Bhopal station platform number-1 using ROB directly via Chhola-Karond road.
Minister Sarang said that many trains leave from Bairagarh and pass through Nishatpura. Currently, passengers have to go to Bairagarh to catch their train due to lack of proper connectivity with Nishatpura. After the construction of ROB, passengers will be able to catch their train directly from Nishatpura without having to go to Bairagarh.
Sarang said that people from every area will benefit from its connectivity with the station. This is an effort to make movement smooth and well-organised through ROB.
