Assam Chief Minister and BJP in-charge of Jharkhand Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted late on Monday night that former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Champai Soren will join BJP on August 30.
The Assam Chief Minister posted a picture of Champai Soren’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and wrote, “Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and our country’s eminent tribal leader Champai Soren met Union Home Minister Amit Shah a short while ago. He will officially join BJP in Ranchi on August 30.”
On Monday itself, Himanta Biswa Sarma had given a statement regarding this. He had said that he wants Champai Soren to join BJP and give strength to the party.
Himanta had said, “But he is a big leader, I do not think it is right to comment about him. If he has come to Delhi, I will try to talk.”
In his statements, Sarma also emphasized his wish for Hemant Soren, state CM and another prominent political figure in Jharkhand, to join the BJP.
Himanta Biswa Sarma had said, “I want Hemant Soren to join BJP. BJP means patriotism. We will work together. We are also ready to talk to Hemant Soren to stop intruders in Jharkhand.”
He had said, “We have to save Jharkhand. For us, the country comes first. Today, the biggest problem facing Jharkhand is the intruders. Our party’s only aim is to fulfill the promises made during the elections and free Jharkhand from intruders.”
This development marks a potentially pivotal moment in Jharkhand’s political landscape, with the BJP aiming to strengthen its position in the state through the inclusion of influential leaders like Champai Soren.
